Default SP500HO - No drive - Left Front

Lost drive in the left front wheel last weekend. Other three wheels work like crazy, but the left front is an anchor!!

Very well maintained ATV, never an issue previously.

Would appreciate suggestions on what might be the likely cause of this?

Thanks,
Paul

you need to check if there is power goiing to the hub to make sure the armature plate is powered. whens the lst time you changed the hub fluid. sometimes real dirty fluid will make it stop working as well. imo

Thanks, Sten

This was the second ride on the fluid change. It has been changed regularly and I have never seen it dirty at all.

I'll check the power this weekend. Do I have to have all 4 wheels up, engine running and trans in gear (ie. wheels spinning) to see voltage down there due to the speedometer being in the circuit?

Here is a good link on working on the locking hubs. ATV Time :: View topic - Polaris Demand Drive Hub Q&A Picture Guide to Service

You may get luck and its just dirty fliud of a broken wire.

Thanks for that link - I used to have it and couldn't find it.

I'm hoping it's a wire - fluid was fairly fresh.

Update:

Took it apart and discovered that when I had it apart previously, the Armature had slipped out of place and wrecked the back of the Roll Cage. Everything cleaned up well, but I need to order a Roll cage and another armature plate. Hopefully, that will fix it.

If it is the roller cage you are talking about, I thought I read somewhere that you can buy one for a john deere that is cheaper and better.
