replacing belt on lt80
#2
I haven't replaced as many belts as many on this site but here goes.
I remove the variator fixed face by loosening the 17mm nut on the end of the crankshaft. If you don't use an impact gun, you'll need to hold the crankshaft to loosen/tighten the nut. Holding the crankshaft involves using a special tool bolted up to the magneto with the fan removed (tool attaches using fan bolts). I welded some flat steel together rather than purchase the Suzuki tool. See a service manual for greater details.
Now route the new belt around the clutch while pulling the movable pulley to you. The belt will fall between the pulleys and provide enough slack in the belt to get the variator fixed face back on. Tighten nut to 40ftlbs (I believe).
