I would just go to a auto starter repair shop, they can rebuild your starter, they did it for my 87 250 Moto 4. $90 Canadian.

Default Model # helped

With that info I found a starter on amazon.com for 48 bucks. Now do we have a Yamaha yfm80 repair manual site that downloads free?
thanks all for the great info on this project.

I've bought a lot of manuals for like 5 bucks off ebay,.... downloadable. Not all for ATV's but manuals nonetheless.

You know ebay probably has everthing i need to do this rebuild. I do spend hours searching for remote sites on the internet for parts and info looking for that deal of a lifetime when I should be just ordering the parts now and start turning wrenches. buy the way that starter motor was only $43 at this company on Amazom.com DB ELECTRICAL STARTER-ALTERNATOR. that was worth searching for. The public library has Clymer shop manuals i found but not the Yamaha moto 4 80.
Thanks again,

Here's a link to a website with parts manuals for ATV's.This might help some.

yamaha partsmanual fiche yfm80u 1988 yfm80 quad bike

World of Powersports also sells factory service manuals for the YFM80 Moto4, but they are expensive at around $70 or so.Their website is also a good place to cross reference stuff.

Default Thanks the sites were good for reference and part look up

WaaHeHe94 you hit it right with those parts manuals and reference links, good graphics and part numbers. You know Yamaha oem sites don't always list the part #s just the catalog inhouse #s for there stock. I'm ready to dig in to this moto4 80 and replace the broken and missing stuff.

Thanks again
