Default The empty quarter

Hello,

I live in Saudi Arabia and I'll be going to the Empty Quarter and i want an ATV a quad bike that can go for 200 to 300 KM a day problem is I'm new to ATV's and once i saw them for the first time i just fell in love with it it makes so much sense to own an ATV to me so i done some research and what i'v been seeing so far is the Polaris Sportsman 850 XP with EFI and EPS or the Grizzly 700 but I'm not sure about the range of these ATV's cause all i heard on videos and forums max is 50 miles i need more then that and if you guys want to see the terrain i'll be going thru please feel free to checkout YouTube - KSAH1Club's Channel that was from our last visit sorry for the bad english and sorry for being a newbie in this great hobbie

P.S I'm leaning toward the Polaris Sportsman

thank you for your time

I have a 550XP, EPS with approx 4000 km, trouble free. Avgs 23 mpg (imperial) or approx. 200 km per tank. 850 would avg a bit less I;d guess.

Great atv.

Cool video but slow loading.

Howdy Jarmenkell and welcome to the forum......... I would set up the new ATV with RotoPax gas carriers to easily lengthen your ride through the desert. Polaris also has a lot of cargo accessories that would fit the ticket for the rides.......and, if you buy a Yamaha drop a line here to tell us how it's working out......Good luck........NoJoke

welcome to the fourm. i would guess your not going to do this ride on one gas tank so you will ned to carry fuel for sure. both good bikes form what i have read, but maybe the 850 might be harder on fuel.

Soft sand really robs gas mileage. I would also recommend Rotopax fuel jugs. They are heavy duty and don't leak at all.

The 850 is an absolute Cadilac. You will not find a nicer machine.

If you are hauling alot of tools and material and Ranger is worth a look.

If range is your thing then get a Arctic Cat they put on the largest gast tanks, most models have or had 6.5 gallon tanks. Most ATVs average 20mpg ,give or take.

The Artic Cat 650I with four wheel independant suspension is a very nice alternative.
