Default Rear axle boot clamp

About 3 months back my left rear axle clamp came loose so i had to pull the axle, clean and grease it. Now I noticed that my right rear now has the same problem.
Went to pull the axle and I can't get the bearing carrier off the lower A arm.
Took both bolts out but the bushings seem to be holding it in so tight I can't get her to slide out. I had the same problem last time but was able to get the axle out without removing the carrier.

Any tips on getting the bearing carrier off the A-Arm.

that's odd, usually the bearing carrier gets seized to the cv joint and not the a-arm bracket. The inner metal sleeve must be rusted to the a-arm. A healthy dose of more pb blaster or whatever penetrating oil that you use, and a couple taps with a hammer and it should fall off

I'm going to try to pry between the lower a-arm and bearing carrier to see if I can relieve some tension and allow the bearing carrier to pull out.

You have to pull the steel bushings out of the A-arms before the carrier will come lose.

yea the steel bushing/spacer is in the carrier about 1/8-1/4" and is why it won't come out. should be good to go after that .

I just changed my axles on my 08 popo 500 and he is right. Those bushings on both sides pull out then the carrier will fall right out. Make sure u use all season grease on the bushings b4 u slide them back thru the lower a arm into the carrier

How did you get the bushings/spacer out. I'm having trouble.
I got the axle out but when i go to put the axle back in it would be easier if I could remove the bearing carrier.
Thanks for all you suggestions. Keep em coming.

I've used a lag screw, bolts, bent screwdriver tip,etc any thing will work just to wedge in the bolt hole and pull out.

I got them out after about 5 mins of wiggling a socket screwdriver with electrical tape over it for added grip. Once they were out a 1/4 inch I grabed them with some needle nose vice grips.

Got the axle cleaned up and back together and back on the bike.

Went for a long 90 mile ride on Saturday. It held up well.

Thanks for the help guys.
