Default Date of manufacturing Question, where to find (sportsman)

I have a 99 sportsman 500 where can I find the date of manufacturing on it, there seem to be some confusion when it comes to ordering parts. Electrical it seems to be a 2000, the ownership and model number is saying its a 1999
Thanks.

On my '97 sportsman 400 the vin is on the frame under the seat.

just take them the vin number which should be stamped into the frame maybe under the seat, under the front fenders on the cross section. seen it in a few locations on differnt bikes. the date is coded into that number.

This VIN decoder should tell you what year model you have.

Thanks Scooter for the like but it isn`t answering my question, and thanks for the other replies.
I have an Ownership (paper work) for my quad so I have the vin number and the year it was made, its a 99 and its registered to me . But I have to be careful when ordering electrical parts because the model year 99 is wrong. I have to order stuff for a year 2000, so that is the reason for the question
What I`m asking for is, is there anywhere on the quad that tells me the actual date of manufacturing (like what "month")
Thanks again for the help.

Looking at a microfiche parts diagram, it shows three different versions of the Sportsman 500 for 1999.

1999 A99CH50AA SPORTSMAN 500
1999 A99CH50AB SPORTSMAN 500
1999 A99CH50AC SPORTSMAN 500 RSE

For 2000 I get a longer list.

2000 A00CH50AA SPORTSMAN 500
2000 A00CH50AB SPORTSMAN 500
2000 A00CH50AC SPORTSMAN 500 RSE
2000 A00CH50AE SPORTSMAN 500
2000 A00CH50AF SPORTSMAN 500
2000 A00CH50AH SPORTSMAN 500
2000 A00CH50AJ SPORTSMAN 500 RSE
2000 A00CH50AK SPORTSMAN 500
2000 A00CH50AL SPORTSMAN 500
2000 A00CH50EB SPORTSMAN 500

I don't have an easy answer for you, but you could check each one of the parts diagrams, and see what model/year matches what you have, or see if any of the sub numbers (AA, AB) matches any numbers you have the paperwork you have.

This is the site I used, Ronnies.

the newer bikes used to have a sticker on them w/ the D.O.M and the vin. it used to be under the headlight pod,but would guess a bike that old it's gone. maybe a dealer can run it and find actual mgf date?

If I remember correctly, on my 2000 it was on the clutch cover. Seemed like it was a bad place for that, so when it started to peel off, I put in on the hood by the headlight housing.

You'd think Polaris would put an * with a thanks to me note on there.

its defiantly not on the clutch cover, if it was its not anymore, I didn`t see anything under the hear light pod when i was under there.
Heres a funny thing about my vin # its 4XACH50A1 (first 9 digits) I checked at the dealer and it appears to be correct also I went to the motor vehicle licencing agency asking about this and they said theres nothing wrong with my numbers , I can`t find anything on the net that has the 8th and 9th digits "A1". You guys I`m sure know better than anyone else. think my quad could be some sort of a prototype (F_ck up) polaris made back in 99? LOL

i can't remember for sure on my 99 335 where it was. the sticker was below the headlight pod on the outside on the plastic housing, not on the inside of it. chances are that it wasn't located there on the older bikes.
