Default What could I have done now?

I was driving my 95 yamaha timberwolf wide open throttle for about 30 seconds down a dirt road in top gear and all of a sudden it started sputtering and wasn't firing. It sounded like the engine died but when I slowed down it picked up and sounded perfect. Now when I get past about half throttle it sputters to a halt but again once I ease off the gas it idles great. I could drive around all day at mid throttle but I just can't get to high on it. What should I check for this? I wasn't sure if it sounded fuel related or maybe something to do with the cam sprocket and chain? I changed my oil and there is no metal shavings in it. I'm just not sure where to go from here

Thanks!

Sounds like a pluged main jet. Put the choke on when it dose it and see if it improves. If it dose then it's a fuel problem and time to clean or rebuild the carb.

now i had this same problem in my warrior, and it came and went, and i had cleaned my carb, i'd check your airbox as well, air filter could be quite dirty, i know mine was and i replaced mine with something better and no problems since, it actually started sputtering from too much air after replacing the air filter, someone drilled holes in the top of the airbox before i bought it, covered those up and it runs like a r******** ape now

Thanks guys il try cleaning the carb and see if it goes away. I've got the side cover off cause im putting in a new clutch so I won't know for a while. I'm wondering how crap keeps getting in my carb it seems like I'm cleaning it every week. I even cut the line and put a fuel filter in and still stuff is getting in there.

Also the petcock assy [fuel shut off value] sometimes the rubber inside of value starts coming apart and the rubber get inside the carb. You need to put an repair kit in petcock, of coarse you can take it apart and look at the rubber seal,BUY if you are getting black specs in carb then thats an good clue that this maybe happening...
