Default Primary or Secondary??

Hi all, I have a 1995 kawasaki Bayou 400 4x4. When I am riding it if I get down into the throttle, or maybe hit a bump that causes it to leave the ground and then catch again it feels as if the clutches are slipping. Ive been "window" shopping and see that the primary clutches are over $200, a friend told me that on his Honda he was able to replace just the pads...Ive been looking and can not find the pads sold by them selves, anybody know of a vendor for these? My other question is is there anyway to determine if its the Primary or Secondary thats causing the slip? When it starts to slip if i back off the gas it will usually hook and be ok.

Primary clutch is the semi automatic clutch[sorta like go cart one] when you accel in torque of engine opens up shoes into drum and this make atv pull,So IMO if you accel and back off to make go then i suspect the shoes and drum are worn and needs replaced...
