Creaking
#1
I took my x2 out for some trail riding. First time I have gone Off road. Did some rock crawling. Man it is a blast. These 4x4 quads are amazing.

My problem is when I got home I noticed a loud creaking coming from the back end. Cant figure out what is making the noise. Is this normal? Any ideas?

+1 on the springs. Another thing that might cause creaking is the A-arms. At least that is the case on my 02. When it starts creaking I know it's time to hit the grease fittings.

I only found two grease fittings on the upper parts of the A arms. Greased them but still creaks. Seems like it is comming from the rear right and low. Machine only has 100 miles but it is a 2007. Think I will take all the arms and stuff apart and grease everything. Thought there would be alot more grease fittings(should be). Seems the creaking side has alot more movement/ action then the left.

The lack of grease zerks on the later model sportsman's was a disappointment to me. Where as my 02 has 16 points if I'm counting right vs. my 07 with 5. Doesn't make since to me. I've always felt there is more longevity with a greasable part vs. a sealed. IMO Maybe they do that so you'll have to replace parts more often? HMMM?

It might be the spring, but I am apprehensive trying to do anything with that. What did you do? Did you figure it out?
