sounds like something inside the differential that is starting to give up & starting to fail! ......uh-oh!. so, it sounds like teeth off of the gears are missing and causing the popping sound? does it lurch/lunge/pop when driving straight? you said "in" the rearend, SO, it sounds gear related unless performance is unaffected. or is the sound around the rearend area?

It Does it very little when i go straight. But when you cut the wheels hard either way it does it worse and all the time. I can have it in neutral and coast down a hill and it will still do it... Do you think that i am wasting my time replacing the axle bearings? Can i see if somthing is wrong if i take the side cover off the rearend case?

I guess i would jack rearend up first and see if up and down motion in rear axle, if so you may get lucky enough to just replaced the bearing and seals, the ring gear is attached to axle and when you turn the axle is flexing or moving enough that it is pulling the ring away from pinion gear if you hadn,t already broken or rounded off the gears , don,t ride atv anymore IMO go ahead an inspect.....

I thought of this. Maybe the noise is just carrying down the hollow swing arm........ I'll give it a try if the replacement of the axle bearings dont work...
