Default 2009 honda TRX500 foreman issues

Hey guys great forum here. I was just informed about this site so figured i would check it out. I just recently bought a 2009 honda foreman TRX500 and really have been enjoying this machine. Just took it in for the first initial service and only have 195 km on it (121miles) and apparantly the tie rod ends are loose. Just wondering if any one has had the same problem?

The dealership i took it too said it could be hit or miss to try and get honda to fix it, but my warrenty doesnt run up untill sept 2011 so i dont see why they wouldnt repair that? Any one deal with honda before and had a hard time getting warrenty repairs?

If by somehow they dont wish to cover there warrenty issues does anyone know where i can obtain the service manual for this bike on the net?

Thanks guys and glad to have found this site!

Never heard of this myself. How did it drive? Is there play in the steering?

I have never had to have warranty work done on a Honda atv so I can't answer that.

I bought a service manual for my 07 Rubicon on line from Trade Bit.

And welcome to the forum!

There was a recall on earlier Foremans for tie rod ends. Apparently the boot could be not installed correctly, leading to premature wear.

Anyway, with that few miles on it, I couldn't imagine them not covering it under warranty.

If they have slop in them I would get it fixed before riding it much. If one of them separates, you could have a bad day.

Thanks guys i appreciate the input. I was just kind of choked they didnt go ahead and fix it right away with that low of hours and miles on it and they have to contact honda and get back to me. Thats where i have a problem. You spend that much on a piece of equipment and have a warranty you figure they would honour it right away to keep the customer happy. Any ways thanks guys ill let you know how it turns out.

So no one knows where i can find the service manual online, like pdf form?

I would have thought they would have taken care of it for you on the spot, too, assuming the machine is still under warranty.

Maybe you could talk to the regional rep.

Jeezzz... 121 miles on the quad, still under warranty, and your dealer give you that crap. I would say your dealer is worthless... and if Honda doesn't cover it, they are not much better.

I would look for another dealer.

Glad they took care of you, even with a delay.
