short n sweet...just bougfht a 05 450..has a air filter(open box), trinity stage4 pipe, 175 main jet, and a after market air/fuel screw thats turned out 2 1/4 turns....

NOW the fun starts...

I finally get it started and it runs kinds ruff if im tring to race it (ride it hard as hell), it takes the gas. but if i try to putt around the yard i have to ride the hell outta he clutch!! or it stalls...it wont take gas at a low rpm....and the header is glowing all the way back to the pipe!! i know they have thin header walls and glow a lil, but not like this...

anyone know what the heck is goin on??? thanks

 

What's the header glowing, red or orange because red indicates rich condition and orange indicates lean condition? It sounds like you got a nice yfz 450, congrats maybe someday i will get one when i'm older. Is it glowing orange or red?

red...im thinking a fuel/air screw not right, along with maybe too big a pilot jet...idk wht the pilot jet size is, but with the rest of the mods im thinking they put a bigger one in...i think i need the stock if its not already

 

yea it's an indication that its running too rich
