From what I've seen in other threads them polaris boots are the way to go. Lots of complaints on the fit/function of aftermarket boots. Gorilla has some heavy duty boots but I'm sure they are as much(or more) than oem's. As for plastics check ebay or bikebandit.com. Not sure if there is an upgraded exhaust heatshield for your model but it's worth checking in to. Use plenty of heat tape on the new stuff when you get it and that should help too.

Boots are not that exspensive even OEM. $19 from here OEM motorcycle and ATV parts from Honda, Yamaha & Polaris – Cycle Parts Warehouse Even my Polaris Canadian dealer sells them for only $30.

I always use popo fluids. Not really any more expensive than the other stuff and lets your dealer know you are taking care of the machine. That can be especially helpful with warranty work or if you ever try to trade it in.

We get some better prices here, I guess being a border town they know they have to sell for less or every one will just go to Sault Michigan's Polaris dealer.
