You went a bit too far.....You need not tear the carbs apart to get to the clip position.
The clip is located in the top of the carb, inside the slide. When you remove the carb top, you will see a long needle hanging out of the slide. Remove the screws(2)...The spring should be free to remove. You will see the clip that is attached to the top of the needle.
Make sure the slides go in correctly when you put it all back together. And make sure you either look into the intake or the glass windows on the side of the carb for proper synchronization.(both slides should move together-at the same time.)

Be careful: The little clip is easily lost if dropped...and It takes a bit of patience until you get used to holding the spring and replacing the screws that hold the cable in place.

Also: I'm assuming there is no TORS system on the bike. But it will be just about the same if there is.

Moving the clip up or down is not always necissary, Some clips are offset, So flipping it over will give you a ½ adjustment.

Adrenalinfreak is right about flipping the clips.
But not on a stock banshee. They should be even, unless the prior owner changed them for some reason. I looked into this a while back.

Good luck.
