I'm helping a friend try to get his ATC 70 to start. Previous owner installed new points, condenser, coil, and spark plug. Points are set according to the book. It has a nice blue spark. We don't have a compression gage yet, but the finger over the hole trick pushes out good pressure. Even though we have spark (and a burst of ether) it won't even pop or anything. We rechecked points and checked fire again (still good), but it still won't even pop on ether. We are anly using ether to try and get a pop and that's all. I'm not a fan of ether, were just trying to confirm that all is good before going further (and cleaning carb). Thanks for any help/suggestions.

 

Welcome aboard! IMO i would adjust values and replace plug and try that, set values on .003 on both values TDC. Let us know how its goes.
