Default xplorer running hot?

My 2002 xplorer is running really hot. I added an AAEN pipe with a stock scrambler muffler and clutch kit but I cant get the jets dialed in correctly. It gets so hot that the brake lines heat up and it locks up the brakes.

Can anyone give me a baseline on the proper jetting for it? the motor is stock. I had to install an oil block off kit and premix the gas. I installed the pipe, clutch kit and a K&N air filter.

what temp and elevation are you at? what are you using on the main? stock main jet on a xplorer is 210. but a 200 can often be better on a stocker. is it the top end pipe?

Thanks for the reply!

Im in VA so basicly sea level. The last time I had it out was in the fall so it was probably around 70 out. It is a top end pipe and i have a 220 main jet in it. It had a 210 but I bumped it up when I put the pipe on.

put a big jet in it, so it will hardly run then start leaning out. 220 probably pretty lean.
at sea level maybe try a 270 to start with. you want to over shoot it. if you slowly go rich you may find the danger zone. Because you might be leaner than that spot.
What does aaen suggest for jetting at sea level? they should have an idea.

Are you loosong any coolant? The cooling systems on these don't work anless they are right full. because of the rad having both spigots at the top.
