Default Store Outside for 3 months,Amazing.

I had to store my ATV outside this season in early Nov. I but a cover on it and left it.
Yesterday Feb4 I shoveled the snow off and took the cover off. The Battery was to weak to tun it over quick so I jumb started it with a power pack exspecting a hard go of things.

It started instantly ,I was so shocked I almost jumbed back. It even crawled out of its 2 ft snow hole and I went for a ride, green grass was under it still.

Ran it for awhile on the packed sled trails and it and the battery recharged itself agian and put it back in its snow hole until spring. (May)

I think that sea foam in the gas helped alot. It was surprising after setting outside for 3 months.

I don't have anywhere but outside to store mine. Been through rain, snow, sleet... well everything. Seafoam helped, biggest issue was the battery.

Awesome story...Is there any electric where you keep it to where you could run a tender to the battery...

well his was dead to begin with, so what im saying is the quad itself wont charge a dead battery.. jumping the battery probably shortened the life too

You should try being stuck behind a dryer for 3 months.

It started after I parked it again, if its shot Wally World will get get another one for $40 like 4 years ago. lol

But a atv burried in snow at 15 degrees for months was impressive for a 4 stroke motor.

I'm not trying to critisize here, jmo. As much as atv/sxs cost us why wouldn't you take as good as care of it as you would your kid? If you can't store inside why not keep next to a building with electric( house, garage, shed) so you can keep a battery tender on it? Taking care of your toys was engraved into my head as little boy by my dad, that being said it now drives me crazy when people dont care of their stuff and wonder why it doesnt work later or have problems. A buddy of mine parks his 500 in the barn and pays it no attention for months at a time, and says he got a lemon cuz it idles rough when he actually starts it if it starts, mind you its carbed and his carb is always gummed up and has to be totally taken apart and cleaned b4 we ride. I feel like his dad getting on him lecturing" these aren't meant to sit and be neglected! Im done witchin! ( last word should have a 'B' not a 'W' LOL)
