Default Stupid question on 650 width?

I'll apologize right off, I'm sure it will sound as stupid as it is...but, I put some 26 x 9 x 12 on the front and 26 x 11 x 12 Baja Cross's on the back of my 2010 Can Am 650 XT Max (I have no idea if you need all this info or not? - took stock ACT's off) Anyway, the front tires were really close to the tie rods so I bought some 1" spacers for the front - worked great, looked great.

Now, the fronts are 9's and the rears are 11's, in my world that makes the rears 1" wider each side (2" wider tires, but 1 " goes to the inside of the wheel?) SO, I add the 1" spacer to the front and all things being equal, should my front and rear be about the same width now? BUT THEY'RE NOT!!!

Man, if ANYONE is following me, I'm impressed!!! My front measures out like 2" wider than the front Does anyone know the standard width of the front and rears? Is the outside to outside measurement of the front tires normall wider than the rears? I always thought it was the other way around???

HELP!
