Default 04' polaris sportsman 600 wont start

I went out today to ride the polaris around a little. Wouldn't start. I checked fuel, 3/4 tank. I pulled a spark plug out (new plugs 2 weeks ago)
connected the plug back into the plug boot and grounded the plug onto the engine while cranking it, no spark !!! havent had to do too much work on the polaris, but is there any common problems for this with the polaris. I guess it could be the coil, stator, cdi box, any other ideas?? I just dont know where to start. and yes, the run switch was on, lol, I did the same routine I do everytime I start it. Thanks in advance.
Dennis.

ok, tried new spark plugs. Not the problem. I could have sworn that I seen 1 spark from the plug, I kept trying and never seen it again. Anyway, I took off the front rack and removed the "cowl" to access the ignition coil. I looked at it and kind of shook the wires around, but dont know what to do with it. lmao. How do I test it ?? not too much on troubleshooting electrical, but i can follow directions and am alway's willing to learn.

sounds like a stator problem to me the 2002 -2004.5 is known for the stator to go out if i remember they have an updated one that takes a little work to install i think it costs around 500 bucks for the replacement

Wow, dont tell me $500.00 for a stator. I knew they were high but geez. I was thinking along those lines myself but now I hope it is something other than the stator
