dead batt 450 es
#2
I had a 99 450es; had numerous problems with electrical. If you haven't had trouble with the electric shift you are lucky. After a while it will get stuck and wont go into gear. Not saying to sell; but would consider options.

mike ...what are the options?????????i spoke with customer relations today (twice) and got a royal run around....they agreed to pay for 1/2 of the trouble shooting cost but wouldnt go for another batt..i now am on my 4th battery on a machine with 481 miles...it has had the current control kit installed and i have used the battery tender sporatically...the rep told me to leave it on the tender at all times when not in use....i would never have purchased this machine if i new it needed to be plugged into to a charger all the time...no mention was ever made to me on this requirement and there is no mention of it in the owners manual.........this is a honda screw up and they are trying to cover the problem........

I have also talked with several people with an electric shift. ALL have had problems with it!!
I would let Honda pay what it will; and use 450 as a trade-in on another Honda; just not electric shift. They do make some excellent machines. I bought a 00 400ex. It is a much better ride!!!
