Default Clicking noise and no oil in valve cover?

I bought a brand new 2010 polaris ranger 800 6x6 back in sept 2010. I used it every saturday hunting for about three months. I only have 18 hours on it so I haven'nt changed the oil untill the 25 hour mark. I had no problems at all and it ran and sounded smooth. Just last week I started noticing that it would hesitate starting but would start. Also I started hearing a clicking noise coming from the valve cover. I checked the oil and it is showinf full.I took the valve cover off and found that the rocker arms were not adjustable , but they were all tight. One thing I can'nt understand is that with the cover off I cranked the engine but there is no oil any were , should'nt there be oil coming out into the valve cover area? Also , if there is a oil presure problem could the clicking be coming from the hydraulic lifters due to the lack of oil pressure? Also how can I install a after market oil pressure gauge to see exactly how much presure I'm getting? I would greatly appreciate any help!!!!! God bless to all , and if you haven'nt thanked a soilder lately , please do , because there the reason we are free.

Hydraulic lifters and not adjustable(a little rocker arm noise normal, but not loud tapping),yes there should be oil around the top end, especially after running a while,WILL be a little dry if engine is cold and has been sitting! Pressure gauge can be mounted at bottom left side close to oil filter (removable plug used for priming oil pump) Noted for having strong pumps and I have torn into a bunch of em. Oil pump gear driven off cam gear and crank/counter balancer gear,if something there was bad you would know it! Hope this help a little in finding any problem?? OPT

Default still clicking

Ok , I changed the oil and filter and also ran some seafoam through it. I also hooked up a oil gauge and its reading 25 at 2800 rpm, I still have a loud clicking going on at the valve cover. any ideas?

Default Lifter

Ok , I took the valve cover off and checked if my push rods were clogged and they were not. After reinstalling the rocker arms I still had no oil coming up through the push rods, so I tried this , I poured oil down each channel that the push rod travels I then turned the engine over but still no oil came out , I got mad and then just turned the key and held the gas to the floor after about 30 seconds oil started going every were from out of the push rods . I shut it down and restarted it and I had oil coming from all push rods and get this no clicking. So here is the question was the lifters clogged or did they loose there prime if there is such a thing or what did I do to fix it.

Lifters could have lost their prime if not used regularly and sets up. Sounds like what we had to do on the old Honda Night Hawks if a lifter or two was pecking, just hold engine at high rpm for a few minutes.and lifter will reprime. Same thing when we carried Victory motorcycles,if a lifter was sticking,Polaris engineers said to just run hell out of em until they quieted down. Sounds like you found the problem anyway. OPT

Ok, the clicking is back and to me louder. So, I'm going to start changing every thing to stop this clicking. I'm going to start with the lifters. I could understand if the sound was not that loud but I wish you could here it , due to it is very loud. I'll let ya'll no.

since its so near to new you may want to get dealer involved, they may be able to cover it with warranty

Ditto on the dealer suggestion! Don't start throwing parts at it! A GOOD dealer could help you! OPT
