New rims on my Scrambler 500!
#1
Hey guys. So the point of this thread is to show fellow Scrambler owners what the ITP Delta rims look like on this machine. When I was searching for Rims I was going crazy. Mainly because no one puts rims on these let alone posts a thread of someone going into detail.
I just want to help out other Scrambler owners interested in getting Rims. The rear wheels are VERY close. They dont rub at all. Once you sit on the machine they actually get farther away. Once you get off though...they come close. About a thumb's worth of space. The Floor boards can moved forward if you drill new holes. Personally im not going to worry about that. I will be adding a 3M vinyl red lip to the rims. Will update.
Now onto the details.
-Carlisle AT489's. F:25x8-12 R:25x10-12. 150Kms on them. Paid $160.
-ITP 12" Black Delta. $56 each after taxes from Royal distributing. $224
-Chrome Royal Distributing valve stems. $8 for four.
-Installation....Free! I work at a tire shop :yahoocool:
GRAND TOTAL: $396. Pretty darn good if you ask me.
Thats about it. Pictures dont do it justice. They lifted the quad a good 2 inches. Feels like its actually lifted when you sit on it.

Looks good. I like the blacked out wheels. My only question is that I was wondering about the fronts and rears being the same diameter. Don't Scramblers have to have rear tires that are 1" smaller diameter-wise than the fronts?

I WILL have another 400 scrambler as soon as I can. Had one and miss it dearly. Either scrambler are the baddest sport 4 wheelers ever. Others may be faster, but nothing goes like a scrambler. Point and click. If you can hang on, it will get there......
Bought my 15 year old his first. A 2000 400 xplorer. Ran great for two days and died. Going to the shop tomorrow. I'm a decent mechanic but I'm stumped on this one.

No problems with mine so far! I do have another 2 inches of ground clearance now! Always a good thing with axeled Atvs!

Was just wondering. I've read that if the rears aren't an inch smaller in diameter that the AWD system might not function properly.

I have only seen black extended fenders for the scrambler/sports. I didn't know they came red, someone had to color them
good looking quad, makes me miss my 02 4x2, got me thinking I would like to pick up a 500ho 4x4 for more aggressive riding, than my 500x2
everyone seems to be commenting on the 4wd system and having the same size wheels. Its nice to know you can run bigger and the same size tires without any problems.
