sportsman 500 or 800 ???

Default sportsman 500 or 800 ???

as some of you know I have been looking at the sportsman 500 well while searching the internet today I found a dealer that has a 800 for 300 more than the 500 is here locally granted its about a 2 1/2 hour drive to this other dealer one way but contimplating the trip what do you guys think here are links to the 2 sites to the dealers

Look's like Polaris have the Canadian and US prices pretty close . Your 500 says $5999.00 and I can get the same machine for $5800 in Canada . How times have changed 2011 POLARIS SPORTSMAN 500 ATV For Sale | PALMERSTON ON

definetly the 800 extra power never hurts. if your working or playing it will always come in handy when you need it. and when you don't need it its still fun to pin it

another question I was told that a 500 would top out around 60 what would I expect from the 800? with more weight (40 pounds heavier) was thinking around 70-75 how close am I?

thinkin 50-55 and maybe 60 on the 800 to be honest if you want to go that fast you might be looking at the wrong quads a 750lbs gets a little scary up over 50

I am not looking for speed I want power to go over/through whatever is in front of me just curious on the top speed of one though since I was told ~55-60 on a 500

id go with the 800 i know the can am 800 will top out at 70 if you have a chance to test drive one befor you go to get it and see what you can get it up to you can also do a hot shot cdi and exhaist you could easily get there with it

55 to 60 mph is right for the 500 , my 08 500 does about 56mph .

the 800 will run close to 70in the right conditions
