frt CV Boot...have packing/seal? 330 magnum
#1
I replaced the front CV boot on my '03 330 magnum. I only did one side of course since it was the only one bad... but I found, between the rotor and the inner hub what looked like packing (old school seal style for you young'uns) OR ... a 3' long piece of dog leash...!!
...I cannot tell if it should be there or not...it has a "handle on one end like a cat leash ...or did I pick it up in the wood over the past 7+ years of riding... it seems like the torque applied to the outer lock nut seals the bearing so maybe a seal isn't used....
anyway does anyone know if there is an inner seal at the frt. wheel hub on a '03 330 magnum...??

Dog or cat leashes were "optional" for that year!! NO seal, the big hub bearing is sealed on both sides and the drive shaft just slips through.(IF you have the later 03 with centralized awd) If you have the hub activated awd system, then you will have a hub seal that has to be pressed on and also an inner strut seal) Must have picked it up over the years. I've found rope, fishing line complete with hooks, barbed wire, etc over the years. OPT
