Dealer wants $39.00 for a radiator cap!!!! I didn't pay even close to that for a replacement for my 1968 Cobra Jet Mustang! Any body know of a generic replacement from NAPA, etc.?

 

Did you check the forum sticky-Polaris Parts at the top of the forum page and check with OP?. And how 'bout forum classifieds, ebay, etc?.

 

$21 for the cap at Cycle Parts Warehouse,Napa,O'reillys,Auto Zone.etc may have an equivalent cap.Difference is there were many more thousand autos made than atvs and parts are everywhere,that's where a lot of the price difference is along with dealers knowing this! I heard this complaint very often along with a lot of cussin' in my years at my old shop! Supply and demand and a lot of times greed?? Same thing on replacement lawn mower,out board marine engine parts,ridiculous! NOT a car guy,but realize you can get a couple pistons or more for the price of one atv piston,etc OPT

 

Went to Advance Auto parts and bought 13 PSI cap made by Stant #10229 for $5.00. Seems to be working just fine.
