i am look ing for a good air fillter for my ex and was wondering what i should et i heard k&n arent good on dirt what should i use that allows air flow and doesnt compromise safty? do i have to re jet it if i get a air filter?? tnx

i dont think you would have to rejet it maybe just a small adjustment to air mixture screw i switched from a k&n to a uni on my old 300ex and i didnt have to rejet. i have heard about k&n filters letting dirt in the motor and thats why i changed to a uni but i a ran on the k&n for a few years with zero problems

they let DUST by...not dirt. This an issue that will EVENTUALLY cause problems. I have been running a K&N in the dusty northwest for 5 years now and havent had a problem. If you clean it and run a prefilter you will be fine. But to each his own.

k&n with outer wear would be fine, if you are worried about it you can always get a uni filter I know guys that run alot of sand say they are better than k&n. as far as jetting go's if its totaly stock it should be fine but they come pretty lean from factory. if the pipe is cherry or if it pops like popcorn on decel. it needs jetted alot better to be little rich than lean.
