06 800 efi
#1
Hi,
I have an 06 polaris 800 efi. my problem is it runs out of gas at about 1/2 tank. Everything works fine till then. If I fill it back up, it works fine. When it does run out the fuel pump sounds different. Is there a tube or something that runs to the bottom of the tank?
Thanks
Jim

Welcome to the forum! The pump is a complete unit with regulator, screen, etc. Could be the pump itself or the regulator is faulty, plus not a bad idea to check/replace the inline filter at the front of the machine,PLUS check the tank vent for any kinks or blockage.Polaris is beginning to offer replacement pumps instead of the whole tank assembly, but other members can direct you on aftermarket Airtex pumps from Napa or other sources if pump needs replacement at a cheaper cost. welcome. sounds like maybe the inlet is high for some reason maybe from coming loose or some thing. in most cases from a bad fuel pump it would not run a half a tank of gas out then act up until you fill it. sounds like you will have to take the take off to check out the assemblely in side to see whats going on. imo

Hi,
I think I agree with you. the machine runs fine, the fuel pump works perfectly until i get to about a half a tank, then it runs out of fuel. I fill it back up and it runs fine until I get to about a half a tank again....
I am guessing there is a tube either below or above the fuel pump that has come off or got stuck some how?
Thanks
Jim
