New piston bored 10 over
Adjusted teh valves as stated i manual and forum members.
It acts like it only fires on partial revolution.
The next scenario was by pure accident. I went thru and checked timing again and thought one exhaust valve was tight. (righht side) Readjusted and put back together. Fired right up but that valve is really loose. Tapping. I never mic'ed it but I would guess at least 30 thou. Adjusted back to where it should be and it is back to only firing on what acts like 1/2 of revolution. Could I be one toothoff on cam? Letting the exhast valve open at the wrong spot? (Early or late?) I am stumped. Please advise.

 

Sounds like a worn rocker arm. Have a look at it.
