Default Yamaha warrior backfiring?

I have had no problems with my yamaha warrior, besides a few electrical things. After I went riding through some water up to my footrests I took it around my neighborhood and when I let off the throttle it would backfire. Kinda like a pop pop pop, it would accelerate just fine and idle just fine! Any ideas?

Sounds like the electronics got wet or you got water in the fuel maybe? Id start with the basics. Air filter clean, carb clean, fresh gas, check electrical connections, new plug, ect....
