Default 07' Raptor 80 suspension

I just picked up an 07' Raptor 80 for my grandchild. Nice little quad for what it is. Anyone have any ideas how to soften-up the suspension? There's no adjustment on the shocks and I don't want to spend more money on after market shocks then the thing cost initially. Would cutting a half-round out of the spring until I get the desired ride work or would it create other issues I'm overlooking? Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Cutting the spring would actually make it worse, it would make the ride stiffer, with less spring travel. Best thing would be to measure the shocks, and see if you can find some replacement ones like from an Eton or other small quad that are adjustable or have a longer spring travel on them. check eBay or google search for places that sell small quad parts.
