Does anyone know where I can get a good quality chest protectors that will fit a 52 inch chest.

I have tried on the FOX & Thor adult sizes and it looked like I was wearing a childs.

I took a spill last weekend and the raptor landed on top of me, I got banged up a little. I'm glad the quad is light. But I think it would be in my best interest to get some additional safety gear.

It took a bad spill for me to get a chest protector too. They are well worth it.

 

Acerbis (say AH CHER bis) has an xlarge. It also has kidney protectors as well. I just ordered a new one from HRP. It is a new model with built in drink supply. I have had one of their protectors for about two years and it's really well made.

i have a dumb question...will a chest protector work if your quad flips over on you? will your chest can get crushed? does it protect from just from bruises and scrathes? are they that good? if so...maybe i will get one. i have only flipped once, hopefully that will be the last time.

 

Chest protectors are designed for roost protection primary and will help with other situations. But it might not save you if a quad landed on you. Depends on the crash just like anything else.

I have friends that ride and wear chest protection. They swear by them, because as we all know if you ride sooner or later your gonna fall. My friends builds are in the normal range so they found chest protectors pretty easy. The chest protection was designed to protect you from small amounts of debris that other rides rear wheels spit back at you. The bonous plan is that the chest gear will give you some protection if you fall.

You are correct if the quad lands on you there is a very good chance that your going to get hurt. I was very lucky, I was in an area where the ground was soft, the seat was the first thing that hit me and because of my size I was able to deflect most of the blunt force. I jambed my finger, had a few scratches and I hurt like heck the next day.
But I know its time to get more protection.
