Dead brute force 750
#1
Ive been fixin up a 750 bf, new battery, new exhaust, fluids and stuff. When you turn the key on it does nothing. There is a seleniod pos comes off battery, goes to seleniod, then another wire leaves the seleniod. There is also a plug which i would assume is the ignition trigger wire which would active the seleniod. What is the real term for that seleniod and where the hell do i get one? Local parts place is completely useless, I cant find one on line. Looking at the diagrams on bike bandit there is a pick of it, (think they call it a mag switch) but no way of buying it or cross refrencing a part number. Where can i get one?

Local Kowie dealer parts dude: What does this thingie look like?
Dieselrob: It's kind of silver and smaller than a can of soup and it's got some wires coming off of it from the battery.
Parts dude: Oh that's called a _________________.
Parts dude: It's part # _______________ and it's $89,356 dollars.
Dieselrob: What the #$^&^*&^*$%!!!!!!!!!!! $89,356 dollars!!!
Dieselrob: I'm a little short on $$'s today man........I'll be back next week and order it.
Parts dude: Latter...........NEXT.

couldn't really get through your post due to the grammar - but it sounds like you're asking about the solenoid
just jump across the solenoid to troubleshoot it- motor should turn over, if the ign is on- it should run.

Ill do that to double check, but the soleniod is coroded as hell. i cleaned it up but didnt help, all the other conectors were just gone threw, only things left are that and fan breaker. waiting on the fan breaker but just cant locate the soleniod.

used to work a parts counter part-time. We'd get a lot of these calls and we'd always try to sell them the most expensive part they didn't need. They's alway ask "is it in stock?" (like they were actually interested in buying it
) followed by "uhhh- I'll call you back in a few minutes" they'd never call back

To OP. That sucks about your parts guy. I had the same problem years ago and then they hired a chick. This chick got the part right every single time. She was good!!! Then she quit, and it's back to your deal again.

Just call any aftermarket part store and most good ones will be able to sell you what you want. Give it a try.

Ok so i jumped the soleniod and it turnd over. But the rest of the elctronics are dead. No display no lights nothing. Where does every thing else get its power from? As of now the positive wire goes from battery to the soleniod, then from the soleniod to starter. There is a 2 wire plug that go on the soleniod also. Is there another wire that im missing for the positive terminal? Im lost here. Anyone have a wiring diagram i can see, or where i can find one online?
