Eton Viper 90R: How do you replace the electric shift motor?
#1
Our Viper would stall when put into Forward gear, then the F would blink. The shift motor made no shift noise. At first it was intermittent, but now it's a real pain. I wiggled the wires going into the shift motor and viola, it shifted for me! Unfortunately, once my son drove it about 10 minutes then tried switching gears it wouldn't work again.
Of all the threads with references to the Viper 90R shift motors going bad, I haven't yet found one that describes how to replace one.
The two bolts and two screws are tough to get at. Even if I get the screws and bolts all out, will there be enough clearance to get the shift motor out and put the new one in?

Send a picture....I have removed and replaced a few of these shifting motors, and with a pic, I may be able to help, however, most times, the motor wasn't the problem...it was the CDI..
Oops...that's and old post.....Crap...LOL

Hi all,
I have been trying to purchase a new motor assembly for my E-Ton 90-R Four Stroke but keep finding it is no longer available. Does anyone know if the gears are sold separately?
Thanks
