Default My 2003 honda 350 rancher is sputtering

My 2003 honda 350 rancher is sputtering and sometimes it blows black smoke . It sounds like the choke is up a little bit but I don't think it is because I just put a new one on because it broke What's wrong please help

check your needle and seat, could be leaking a little and overfilling the carb. Worn needle in the main jet could make it run rich as well, along with a plugged air filter.

not torn, plugged dirty, the black smoke is from a rich condition, I don't know what carb is on that machine, but if it has the brass slide valve style choke, it may have a bad seal on it or not be going all the way to the bottom.
