I lost the 2nd layer of foam on my Uni filter for my DS650. My wife got me an Outwears filter for Christmas, but I'm wondering if it's a bad idea. I think the Outwears is meant for a stock filter or a K&N as the stock is obviously dry and the K&N oil is more sticky after it dries. The Uni oil is very "oily" and I would think that where the Outwears makes contact with the Uni, that the oil would transfer and clog it up.

Anybody run an Uni air filter with an Outwears cover on it with good results?

 

The more I look around, I see the Outwears advertised for K&N and Uni filters. SO it must be OK. I wonder if I'm using too much oil on my Uni, because if I even brush up against it, I get oil on me.

 

What oil are you using on your UNI ???

 

I'm using the UNI cleaner and oil kit.

 

Should be fine. We run UNI filters but use the yamaha air filter oil and never had any problem with running our outer wears. Might look at the yamaha filter oil. It does get more tacky than the others.
