have 08 420 rancher 4x4 w/50in. eagle plow, was thinkin superwinch
terra 25. was there any issues mounting winch on 420's. any
brand winch? thanx. enjoy reading this forum.

If you are going to be using it with a plow, I strongly recommend that you think about getting a SuperWinch with a synthetic rope as steel cable doesn't hold up well when lifting a plow up and down.

by others also 4 plowing. will have 2 go that route.

 

I have the Warn XT25 with the synthetic rope. Install was a bit of an issue though, tried as I could, I just could not squeeze the winch behind the bumper no matter how I turned/angled it. In the end I just completely removed my bumber and then it took 5 minutes to install. Should have just removed the bumper in the first place and saved myself an hour of work trying to fit it in. Plus removing the bumper gave me access to route the wires more efficiently. Removing the bumber was so simple just 8 bolts (4 per side). With my Warn winch I had to install it facing backwards. By backwards I mean the warn symbol faces the back of the ATV. This orientation is so the synthetic rope comes off the top of the spool instead of the bottom. By having the rope come off the top of the spool the rope comes out of the fairlead roller directly in the middle and not against the bottom roller.
