Smile Sportsman 550 XP primary spring change..

Just finished installing new primary in two 550's..One 2009 and a 2010...One of the springs is from Polaris Part #7043803 cost $ 9.33 and silver spring from EPI cost about $ 28.00..The owners rode both artv's and could not tell the diference in the springs. They both take the jumpy start out of the atv's...They are just as smooth as the 2012's we ride..

The spring is Blue..Part # 7043803 and cost 9.33.It can be changed without removing clutch..Remove bolts for outer face of clutch and replace the spring.Just did one this morning..Only took about 45 minutes and couple cups coffee..Very simple job..

so does the spring replacement help with overall power feel, or would that be a complete clutch change?

The only change we have noticed is the jumpy start..Everthing else seems the same.

Any idea what color spring would fix the same symptoms for a "850"?

My 2012 550 Touring has a very smooth take off.

I never liked the way soo many of them "jump" when starting out.
