Thumbs up 700 Raptor

So,
I went down to check progress on my quad. While i was standing around i went and set on a 700 raptor.
Thinking ahead, (years away) for my next quad, i wonder if this thing is any good?
It set up good, fuel injected, good suspension, lightweight...

What do you guys think about it? Anyone have any problems?

Corney thread but.. hey... i liked the thing.

If you're the one buying it, and you like it, does it matter what anyone else thinks?

There is a good reason why they are one of the top selling sport machines. Plenty of power, ride like a caddy(compared to the 450s at least) the newer model years have great suspension for just about any application. If you were ever thinking about mx/xc/worcs etc style racing, a 450 is better. Otherwise a 700 is one sweet ride.

I bought my 08 700 in May of 2008 and love it, it has been great and reliable. The only issue I have ever had with it was having to replace the battery. They ride and handle great and the power is awesome, tons of torque. I use mine mostly for ATV rodeos, drag races, and the occasional trip to the dunes or St Joe State Park in MO.

If your looking to buy used the only notable changes were the 07 special editions/GYTR and all 08 and up models came with better piggyback front shocks and in 09 they added the speedo display. All other changes have been very small. 08 and up came with a slightly better flowing head, 09 added a little more travel to the shocks, and there are several other very slight differences.

Just wanted to get a second opinion. I don't keep up with yamaha that much. Not saying i'm gonna go buy one today, or even this year probably. Just curious.

In my opinion, the Raptor 700 is the best sport trail quad out there. I agree with everything that was said above. I have been riding ATV's/dirtbikes for 23 years, and have had MANY ATV's, and ridden MANY of my friends different ATV's, and the Raptor 700 is the best that I have ever owned. Power, suspension, torque, braking, comfort - it has it all.

I like my 06 one I bought last summer.Reverse comes in real handy in the woods believe me it does.Mine also doesnt use too much gas it seems for some reason.Too me this thing has so much power and torque I couldnt get it past 3 in the woods. Its got a wide torque curve I believe.Too me it still jumps nose heavy but then again maybe I dont know how to jump.LOL

I love mine...You can upgrade them alot, and really modify them. I ride mine mainly on trails and farm fields... I upgraded from a warrior.
