Its a high performance motor exsact same they use in there 450 motocross race bikes, so if longer hours is what your before rebuild time , go for a tamer Honda 400ex or Suzuki 400z even a 700 raptor.

No one buys a motocross expecting to have a trail bike that will get high mileage before rebuild time. Same Goes with high performance ATVs.

Yes, it is a great quad. If you want low maintenance the 450 class probably isn't for you however. Maintenance intervals are tighter(oil changes, valve adjustments, rebuilds, etc.) than something like a 400Ex or Warrior, and it can get quite spendy if you don't stay on top of things. Riding style is also a big factor in durability. If you are constantly riding at your limit, you are just so much more likely to break parts.

There's no such thing as an ATV that you don't have to work on. If you only putt-putt around the yard occasionally then you won't have to work on it much, but if you ride it hard and throw it in the mud, creeks, and hills then things are gonna wear out. The 450 is a higher maintenance quad than some others, the engine revs so high it's almost a ticking time bomb. A 400EX is a good choice that requires little maintenance, my buddy had one that he NEVER worked on, he just checked the gas and filled it up with oil, and it never left him stranded!
