Got an oddball idea and new to the site..

Hey there, First time here, forgive me if i sound abit fresh..
anyways i had a goofy idea.. I dont know if it even can be done..
I had this goofy idea about using a key switch as a switch for lights that would be located in the truck bed with a topper.. the switch would be inside the bed but only turn on with the key so no one could fiddle and turn the switch on while the truck was off... I know this might sound kinda stupid and out there.. and more then likely pointless.. But.. how many people use a key to turn on lights in a truck bed.. its kinda one of those weird only you have it on your rig type of things..
at any case.. is there a way a person can do this? i got a key switch already from a friends trashed atv.. some wear and tear but still in good cond.. it looks like this one with 6 prongs
Polaris New OEM ATV Ignition Key Switch 3 Pos MT Sportsman,Ranger,Hawkeye,Trail | eBay
so.. can anyone help me with my crazy hair brain idea?
