Dinli Dino 50cc
#1
I recently bought a dinli dino 50cc 2 stroke oil injection atv second hand they said it had not been running in 6months at least.. i drained the petrol added fresh and it still wasnt fireing well i took the spark plug out and the gap wasnt sufficient so i adjusted this andi got a spark! tryed kicking hmm sounded better after about a hour of kicking she started !! she ran fine abit smokey for 4 - 5 days and then over night i coverd it over came down the next morning it had jammed the kick start!!?? i took out the spark plug to see if it was to big and the piston had hit it and closed the gap but ithadnt insted petrol poored from the hole??and freed up my kick start i screwed spark plug back in and she started then 2 days later it stalled and back fired huh?? started again after this got it home and the kick had STUCK again proceeded to do as i did before but this time no petrol??? and it did not release my kickstart?!! i took off the cover of the fan on the opposite side and it was dirty not white as the plastic was my friend decided to turn the fan with his hand and it was stook he pulled a little and it moved freeing the kick start ?? but now sounds like she do's not want to start at all
all comments will be highly appriciated hope iv given you enough to help me thaanks alot in advance!! SNIPER

first of all, not everyone knows about your specific quad. some folks have a dinli, most do not. someone may not have ever had the problem you have with a quad so they don't know what to say or advise. second of all, your grammar and lack of spell check on your words makes it hard to somewhat read. but if you really want some feedback to your problems, try this:
spark plug getting hit by piston? wrong size plug.
how much smoke spits out while running? 2 strokes smoke but it shouldn't be excessive unless the mixture is wrong.
if you have gasoline pouring out of the spark plug hole, your float is stuck open and you're flooding the carb. no wonder your 2 stroke don't want to start. pull the carb off, clean the jets and clean the needle valve. make sure your float hasn't sunk. reinstall everything and start the quad.
have a great day. report back is you have any problems.

Thanks for the reply! sorry i appologise im clearly not so good at english!! my spelling and grammer is far from great!! Sorry !
well the spark plug is not getting hit it is still the same distance i set it as and if i earth it to the bike and kick i have lots of sparks...
its not really excessive its minor but the seperate oil tank doesnt sem to be going down and i used a full tank of petrol??
before i wrote the first comment i had taken apart the carb cleaned with needle and compressed air. the float moved freely if i touched with finger.. what do you mean by " make sure your float has not sunk "?
this is my problem,,,,,,,my piston got stuck!!!!! the kick sttart wouldnt move yes?...i removed spark plug and petrol came out this then released the piston, the kick start then moved and turned over the atv. but after a few kicks the quads kickstart jammed again!!!! this time when i removed the spark plug it did not release the kickstart..?....
my friend moved the flywheel on the oposite side and my piston moved all the way up and down whats happening is it going to seize how can i stop this put some oil in there with the piston? do i need engine oil in the side of the engine lower down not the 2 stroke tank.??

But did you remove the float and needle and clean it and the seat?
Sunk:: it's rare but a float can fill with fuel. Usually a manufacturer defect.
If it's still not turning over when the plug is out and there is no fuel comming out, I feel that you may need to pull the cylinder and check the piston/cylinder for gouges/damage. You should have seen some oil used with a full tank of fuel gone thru.

Have you got the problem sorted out yet?
If the engine doesn´t turn over well or stucks it can be either piston that gets stuck in the cylinder, or mainbearings that are in bad shape -most likely due to lack of twostroke oil in its previous life.
Another thing hat could cause it is if the nut outside the starshaped washer at the crankshaft (on kickstart side of the engine) is tightened too hard.
The kickstart itself is quite sensitive for tolerance issues, and gets easily stuck if it is not properly installed.
When you got it running, did it run well or rich?
Is it possible that the smoke related from excessive oilmixture?
I would in your case premix twostroke oil and petrol and drain the oiltank until everything is sorted out.
Did the carburator get fuel all the time or did fueldelivery suddenly stop?
When the tank is located a bit in front of the carburator and fuel first goes thrue the fueltap then to carburator, the fall from tank to carb. isn´t as good as one could hope for. If the hose between carb. and tap is slightly too long -fuel has to travel almost horizontally which is bad for fuelflow.
Assuming you cleaned the carburator and its needlejets well, and the float is not punctured so it lies on bottom and causes carb. to owerflow, and the electric choke has not stuck in on position -fueldelivery has to work.
A clever thing to fit is a transparent plastic fuelfilter, so it is possible to see if fuel reaches the carburator.
No oil should be poored in engine, but a bit far to the back where you have a transparent glass and a filler cap above, oil is needed for the gearings. I use gearbox oil.
The engine on theese Dinos are Horizontal Minarelli Aircooled -not sure if they are real deal or copys -but Minarelli indeed.
The nice part about it is that the Minarelli is fitted to millions of Yamaha, Aprilia, Cpi etc. scooters worldwide. That means the parts are cheap, and a great deal of tuning parts are available -and fits bolt-on
My three year old children run their Dino @ 14 000+ rpm
