does anyone recommend the honda rancher at? we are looking for my sister a fourwheeler...and it has to be auto, so i thought that this one would possibly be a good idea?

 

Good medium sized quad. Super reliable, typically. Not so up on them. If they have an independent rear suspension model that would give a more comfortable ride than the solid straight axle. Straight axle is a better work machine the with exception of a Polaris Sportsman X2. The main thing I don't like about Hondas is that they only have a limited slip front differential. Only an issue in deep snow, mud, and off camber climbs.

 

ok thanks for the input, it seemed like a good stable atv... since it has auto. but i just didnt know what owners thought about it.

hey i don't have a rancher i got a fm with the streight axle and he hit it on the head work horse but the independant makes for a amazing ride and you can get power steering that makes riding not so hard with the limited slip in 4x4 mode but overall i love my honda and i wouldn't trade it in its a 2010 and i have worked the crap out of it rode it hard jumped it its over all a all around atv with independant i think its a great ride my wife loves to ride mine all around with my son and shes comfortable with it so i would say a 420 rancher or a 400 in general is just right for a 90 - 130 pound woman if you get a at they have a power steering system for them i would look in to that

 

well ive always liked the honda ride personally, but i fell for the polaris the first time i drove. my sister has a hard time turning my polaris sportsman 500 ho, so we were lookin at getting somethin smaller and lighter that would make it easier for her to turn. we dont really wanna pay the extra for the EPS, so i thought i would look into this rancher at

 

I have a 2004 400 at with over 3600 miles on it. It is mife wifes quad and she loves it. No problems with trails, mountains of Arkansas, swamps of East Texas and she uses it around our place for whatever she wants to. It is not a heavy hauler but does great pulling a 16 cuft wagon with limbs and garden supplies.

 

Honda ranchers are great little bikes in all the sizes I've ridden! Own a 350ES, my son rides a 400AT & friend has 420...all do anything asked of them within reason and my 350 performs above and beyond. Then again it's bored .050 over, snorkeled, and running 12" ITP Mud Lites on rear with Maxxis on front.
Get one and have a blast!!!!

 

well, i just saw a post by someone on the forum page that kinda scared me. i dont know if it was because his was just malfunctioning or if that may be a problem found frequently?
