Mag 325 4X4
#1
I have a 2000 Magnum 325 4X4. There is a reverse overide button that you have to hold down to get all she's got when in reverse. I like the idea of it when the wife or kid are driving it but I would like to be able to somehow push it in and it stay in. The problem is when I am hauling wood or doing some other kind of work, I am frequently backing up on grades and over fallen scrag wood and such where I need more power and the 4 wheel drive. When I am backing up I usually need to get turned around in the seat as much as possible to see what I am doing which means I only have one hand on the bars. It is a pain to have to hold down that button when I need it. Any suggestions?

Kevin,
On my 97 Scrambler, I bypassed the reverse override button so that when I go to reverse, I have full power and AWD..(provided that the AWD button is depressed) Mine has the older design circut board under the hood, but I'm sure there is a way to do the same with yours too...
As for your wife and Kiddo on it, you'll just have to explain to them that its not the same beast that they are used too... I don't know about the 325, but my Scrambler 500 will do wheelies in reverse, and a log behind the rear tires would just magnify things... hhmm.. Maybe there is a way to swap out the pushbutton override with a remote mounted toggle switch???? NOW THATS AN IDEA!!!... You could put an auxillary toggle switch in the circut that, when switched, would act as the override button, only you wouldn't have to keep your finger on it. And mount it out of the way like infront of the handlebars to keep anybody from accidentally hitting it... HHMMM.. ANYBODY HAVE A WIRING DIAGRAM OF THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM???????? Maybe we can figure something out for it...

I like the toggle switch idea. I have been into the switch housing to get a better look but it is all too specialized. I wish they just used some more common parts (switches and wires) instead of custom made sliding contacts and printed circuits. A wiring diagram would help tons.
