In the 2001 Polaris catalog they do have a winch setup for a gen 3 machine. If you cant find the info I will be glad to dig out the catalog and get you the price.

I think you can go right to the polaris website and find out, I am sure you can put one on them, I know i have seen one on the trail. but i could be Yeah they have one on the website it says 539.99 This is what it says

2000-Pound Warn™ Winch for Gen III Polaris ATVs
$539.99
Sport riders need winches, too, right? After all, you may have to pull out non-Polaris riders who get stuck. There’s no winch better for your Gen III model than this 2,000-pound Warn™ winch. It offers a ton of pulling power and its durable construction lets it handle the roughest rides and still deliver when needed. Its 1” tubes are made of 14-gauge steel and there’s a 10-gauge winch bracket. The winch replaces the front bumper and skid plate of Gen III models.

I have seen one on the front of a Scrambler. It mounts right out in the open on top of the angeled portion of the front bumper.

I've seen it for about $320, Winch and mounting plate. Just can't remember where I saw it. I'll try and find it.

Hey Ferd,
Yes you can mount a winch on your atv.I have a warn on mine and it is really a cool set up.I got the winch bumper kit from Polaris(#part2873411)it was around a $175.00 but, was nicer than most winch kits i looked at.The front end now looks like a sprint car lol.I already had the winch from my other 4-wheeler and just robbed it from there lol. The whole thing including winch weighs about 35 lbs.Thats just enough to hold the front end down and get the whole shot i needed to out run my buddies .If you like i can send pictures of my Scrambler and you can see for your self the nice look it has.(Booggerbe@aol.com)It just kills the Hondas for a Scrabler to run in and out of the Mud holes and then turn around and pull them out lol.

I found one source but the mount is in the rear.

I'll keep looking for the front mount kit.
