Default 2002 Polaris 250 Trailblazer

I just bought a 2002 Polaris 250 Trailblazer. I am having to put a carb on it to get it running. Is there anything I need to know about this ATV? I have not ridden ATVs too much and that was years ago. Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Frank

Wouldn't hurt to do a compression check to see where you stand on the top end before you go too far.. 115 psi compression or less then you could start to have some problems. If you replace with a used carb or even a new one make sure it's jetted to this year model specs. #110 main jet,#40 pilot jet. The 250 engine is a good engine,in the Polaris lineup from the beginning up until a few years ago. I'd also bleed the oil pump to make sure any air is purged if you continue to use the oil tank and pump.Use only Polaris AGL in the gear case. Plus a simple free owners manuals are available at online sources to help on maintenance.

Thank you very much. I just purchased a used carb on eBay. Mine was pitted badly and in bad shape, gunked up after sitting in the back 40 for a few years. It will crank but not start. Only paid $300 for it so I can put a little into it.

Thank you very much. I just ordered it. It is the least expensive thing I have bought for this thing! I can not believe the prices on parts....

Thank you for the quick response. Am I asking for the right parts by description? I put a used carb on it today and it ran. We still have more work to do but it is getting close!

Thanks,

Frank

If you're talking about the carb kit it does fit most models, but look at the main jet as it may be a different size as what came with your oem carb. You can clean and reuse the old one if need be. All the other parts should be the same.

I have a 2002 Polaris Trailblazer 250 and need the covers that go over both the belt side and pull start side. I am told they are plastic. Would you have these or know where I could get them? Am I calling these covers by the correct description? Is there something else I need to call them to get the right pieces? The used carb was put on today and works great. We are going to put a carb kit on it anyway.

Thanks,

Frank

Best place on the plastic clutch cover is Ebay,BUT don't order an older type as they would warp. The recoil assy is on the right side. Just check Ebay or Craigslist.http://www.ebay.com/itm/2002-Polaris-Trailblazer-250-Clutch-Cover-/121037397184?pt=Motors_ATV_Parts_Accessories&hash=item1c2e641cc0&vxp=mtr

OR if you're talking abut the plastic body side panels, you'll just have to look under Polaris body parts.http://www.ebay.com/itm/2002-POLARIS-TRAILBLAZER-250-FRONT-FENDER-/140912511668?pt=Motors_ATV_Parts_Accessories&hash=item20cf0a4ab4&vxp=mtr
