smaller but heavier tires
#1
i found a good deal on some barely used 25" kenda executioner tires, but i heard these tires are a little heavy. i have 26" factory tires on it now but will i lose much performance putting a smaller size, heavier tire on? anyone have experience with these tires?

I put them on my king quad 400. I noticed quite a difference in power when doing long climbs at hatfield McCoy. Quad would really wind out by the top of the climb. With that said, that was a 400 compared to your 500. I think you will be completely fine to go to the Kendas. They are a great mud tire and decent trail tire.

Bigger tires (taller) give you more speed but less torque. Shorter tires give you more torque but less speed.

Mudlites which are known for there good weight have a weight of 25"x10 (23lbs) and 26"X10(24lbs).There thinner 25"x8" fronts weigh 20lbs.
You may want to look up the true specs of your (20lb) 26" X11 Polaris PXT tires . You may find the your new 25" tires are lighter not heavier.
I have the same though, I,m thinking about putting 26" Mudlites on my 350 Grizzly but wonder what my top end loss will be.
