Trashed A-arm
#1
I went from a dead stop to 10 ft. when I hit a wet rotton stick about 3" 0D that was brken off and pointed right at my top cheep @!#$@! A-arm. I can't believe Yamaha didn't use steel. I hit the brakes before I hit it but it still hit hard enough to rap it a round my shock. I've hit live trees at 20 to 30 mph that stoped me dead in my tracks on my warior& 400 ex and never made a dint. Other than that I Love my Raptor!!

I feel you man, I flipped mine over backwards in a weak a** wheelie. I was going slow as hell and my a-arm bent so bad that my front left wheel was sitting in at a 45 degree angle. needless to say I wasn't pleased. I ask the shop why something like that would happen and they told me that I must have been abusing it, that those things just didn't break....WHATEVER!!! since then I have heard terrible stories about the a-arm. sux huh?

I saw a trashed raptor at my local dealers shop waiting to be worked on. I asked what happened to it, they told me the owner was taking a double jump and after landing the first jump the ball joints seperated which caused him to crash trashing the bike. This dealer or yamaha is fighting warranty work, claiming he hit some thing or he abused it. In any case I'm sure it will be an ugly fight. Has anyone eles heard of anything like this, I have never heard of ball joints seperating on their oun.

I hit a good size tree at a local hare scramble in second gear hard enough to bend my right front wheel to the point it almost was rubbing the brake caliper. And my a-arms were fine. I can't believe you guys are having that much trouble.
guess its all in how and where you hit 'em
