The Cannondale will flat out destroy a 400 ex. It wouldnt even be close. Those Cannondales are running right with Raptors and Dss.

The Cannondale cost $8000, so it better beat a 400ex. I bought my 400ex for $5700, give me $2300 to spend in mods and i would have a much faster quad which would take on the Cannondale. But i hope the Cannondale does well.

Quad Central II's 450EX looked pretty tough to beat. I think it could be built for less total investment than a Cannondale. Can you really put a price tag on the proven reliability of a Honda?

That 450ex in the mag was at least a $10,000+ bike. You better look closer.

Hey Ridzhard,
I'm officially an Arizona resident know. This is my first night back on the forum. We are gonna have to hook up and go riding before it gets to hot. I saw the Cannondale at Apache Motorsports in Phoenix and here's my 1st impressions: It is LIGHT! it sure feels more than 25lbs less than my EX. There are alot of hoses sticking out of the engine area. That worries me. Great aluminum work. Quality parts all over [still have to change the bars thou]. If the engine does have @ 10hp more than the 400ex, then it would be evenly matched for an EX with @$3000 in upgrades. Reliability, That's the big question.
Talk 2 you soon Rob

i don't think honda reliabity is that great anymore. I hope the cannondale turns out to be a great bike, i have never seen one, only pictures. It is time for honda to do something besides new decals and plastic bodywork. The 400 ex was a great quad 3 years ago, when there was nothing better out. Now the only thing it has is good handling, and not far superior at that. Racerjim do you have any speeds or times for us inquiring readers.

Yea the 450ex had over $2000 just in chrome. But if you spent an extra $2000 on a 400ex you could probably keep up with the fx400 it is just a thought though.
