Post Wolverine 450 Engine and brake problems

Hey guys. My Wolverine has had several problems the past few months. First and fore most is my engine. It is smoking to hell. It started when I didn't run it a lot because my battery was dead. The filter was pretty much nothing until I FINALLY replaced it. What I think happened is that sand, dust, etc got in the engine, because the filter didn't do its' job. (Can't really blame it because it was rotted) I'm not sure if it has worn my rings out or something has happened to the gasket. It is burning up my oil pretty fast too. And finally brakes. I can't say much about the ole four-wheeler brakes. They ware out pretty dang fast espesially with sand and what I put em through. They are still decent put when you slam on em the right one locks up and it's hard to get it to unlock. I'm not really sure what is causing this. Give me what you got guys it'll really help.
