Question 2004 Sportsman 600 Electrial problem..

Was on a poker run in WV this weekend and my friends atv overheated.. Shut it off and when tried to restart it everything was dead..Towed it to camp and never tried to start it until today when we headed home..Hit the key and it started right up but the battery icon was flashing in the speedometer..Opt what is my problem ???Or anyone else have any Ideas And we also had two accidents which resulted in deaths..Drinking and atvs just don't work..

First check all connections and that that it's charging at least 14 volts back to the battery at an idle.If it is,could be simply a battery cell shorting out and needs replacement. The battery light is on for a reason.Hopefully it was mfg after 2/2003 and has the updated ignition and not the crappy Ducati ignition system that could cause problems like this. Sorry when I hear when something like this happen. Heard the same thing at the shop several times.
